Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Rose Initial #72 is a bright, warm, medium pink with yellow undertones. On me the shade looks similar to MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush, but the finish of Rose Initial is more subtle. It has Chanel’s signature micro glitter, just about the right amount not to be over the top but to lift the shade so it doesn’t look flat on the skin.
This blush was released in fall 2012 and is a part of Chanel Joues Contraste Blush permanent collection. Although it comes in baked formula here in the UK (and rest of the Europe) there are no issues with pigmentation. Unlike some of the older Chanel blush shades, Rose Initial is soft and well pigmented.
Chanel Joues Contraste blush in Rose Pétale #99 is a medium rosy pink shade. It is darker than Rose Initial, a bit muted and with subtle blue and red undertones. It’s a gorgeous, complex shade. It looks very flattering on my pale neutral-to-cool toned skin. This shade also has some beautiful multicoloured micro shimmer in it. Unfortunately Rose Pétale has been discontinued, but it is still possible to stumble upon it online and in the less popular shops that have Chanel counter.
